Aaron Carter : Singer and brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick dies aged 34

Aaron Carter, a pop singer who was a hit in the early 2000s and the younger brother of Backstreet Boy, died Saturday, one of his representatives said in a statement.

He is 34 years old.

Roger Paul’s statement did not specify the cause of his death. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office said detectives were investigating reports of a “suspicious death” at Carter’s home in Lancaster, California on Saturday.Carter, who has struggled with addiction, said he had been sober for five years earlier this year. He is the brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter. The singer-turned-actor-turned-rapper is known for the early 2000s hits “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” “I Want Candy,” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq.”He released his first solo album in Europe on December 1, 1997, six days before his 10th birthday. The album sold 1 million copies worldwide, marking his early rise to fame.

Carter’s second album, released in 2000, titled “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and the title track peaked at number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also performed with “I Want Known Candy.” ” from that album and “I’m All About You” from Oh Aaron’s 2001 album. His 2001 single “That’s How I Beat Shaq” featured an NBA All-Star in a video on the tarmac in a park and featured preschoolers dancing along to the bubblegum pop hit.

She has made several television appearances, including the Season 1 episode of “Lizzie McGuire” in the Christmas-themed episode “Here Comes Aaron Carter.” In 2001, Carter made his Broadway debut as an actor in the musical Seussical.One of five siblings, the Carters family starred in the family reality TV show House of Carters in 2006. “He truly cares about other people and the love he has for those around him is immeasurable; such a way that we believe it is safe to say it exceeded the deadline,” the statement said. “We can still feel his presence and warmth all around us.”Carter is survived by his brother Nick and sisters Angel Carter and Bobbi Jean Carter. She also has a baby boy named Prince, the Los Angeles Times reported last month. Her sister Leslie Carter died in 2012. Her father Robert Gene Carter died in 2017.”We are still in the process of coming to terms with this unpleasant reality,” his fiancé, Melanie Martin, said in a statement to The Associated Press. “Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

Adam Grandmason, host of the podcast No Jumper, said in a tweet that he learned of the singer’s death from a close friend. Carter has appeared on the podcast at least three times, most recently in an episode released Wednesday.”He was a good man despite all the demons he fought,” Grandmaison tweeted. “I’m sad to see him go.”In 2013, Carter filed for bankruptcy, the Tampa Bay Times reported, and a musician’s representative told the paper that most of his $2.2 million debt came from when he was a minor and had no control over his finances.
